Literature Text

As a child, said I to Mother mine,
A rich man will I be,
My words do mark this day.
Though I knew not of which I spoke,
Vast treasure which awaited.

For solitude
Upon a golden mountain
Can not compare to smile of yours
My eyes to behold.

The day I child uttered the oath,
Not once did I imagine.
To watch as we together grow
Old and young as one.

I fell into the deepest pool
When you became my wife.
Put my sail against the wind
To find a home, a life.

Wait for me until the day, you said,
I know your love is true.
Until another time, you spoke,
For certain hearts to bond.

A time by time the seasons pass.
My one true love does wait.
Again I spake of deepest vow.
And yes, upon another year, spoke thou.

Until the sea becomes the land,
If that is all you ask.
For love as mine shall never fade,
Though days, as eons pass.

As my hair on chin begins
To turn as spring to winter,
I look into your eyes of blue
And sense the timelessness of love.

My eyes that watch the seasons pass
Grow weary on the world.
But let me see just one more day
Of love within your eyes.

When leather skin of mine becomes
And feeble bones do break,
My heart with wings still takes to flight
Upon your loving gaze.

Be with me.
And in that breath of silence,
Our two hearts become as one.
As the wind through the trees,

It took two rings to make a vow.
One lifetime to be wed.
A life, again a life,
Forever by my side.

I breathe into the hair upon your neck
As we stand upon the landing.
Leather skin against your silken cheek.
Day's labor lost to memory.

A breath of essence of your skin.
The scent of you on satin shoulder.
I taste upon the savor of your lips.
Intoxicating Kisses.

You kiss the sweat of labor from my brow
As welcome to your loving arms.
All my troubles melt away
Upon the touching of your lips.

My leather arms around your waist
Feel strong for all the gentleness.
And yet my legs do weak become
With passion of your kisses.

A hug beside the kithchen sink,
I smell the perfume that is you.
A gentle laugh is music,
Fallen on my battered ears.

Dinner done a day is gone.
I watch you as you read a book,
Ideas that flash across your face.
Eyes of sky, hair of desert.

With his head upon your hip,
The sleeping dog behind your knees.
Happy to be touching you,
I know just how he feels.

The cat upon the couch back,
Soft and warm by soft and warm,
A comfort to be near you,
Sentiment of which I share.

To gaze into your eyes of sky
I fall into the depths.
Of ocean 'gainst the sandy dunes,
You read to me of what?

For music from across the room,
Of what remains unspoken.
I adore you, I adore you.
Book forgotten in your eyes.
Just a first draft. It will be longer, and hopefully better.
